Annual Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to review your health and financial benefit elections and make changes for the upcoming plan year. This year's Open Enrollment period runs from May 1 to May 31, 2022.
During Open Enrollment, you may choose to:
- Enroll in, waive, or change medical, dental or vision plans.
- Enroll or re-enroll in the Health Care Bonus Waiver Program (current participants must re-enroll!)
- Enroll or remove eligible dependents for medical, dental and/or vision plans. (Documentation required to enroll eligible dependents: birth certificate(s), marriage certificate or certificate of domestic partner registry.)
Completing Your Enrollment:
If you want to make changes to your benefits, complete and submit the online enrollment form along with the required supporting documentation for dependents or the Health Care Bonus Waiver program, if applicable. You must submit your forms no later than Tuesday, May 31, 2022, by 5 p.m.
Open Enrollment Presentation
In order to keep our employees and the community safe we will not be hosting Open Enrollment Information Sessions as we have in the past. Please take a few minutes to review our 2022-23 Open Enrollment presentation:
Contact your Department Employee Service Center if you have any questions regarding completing your enrollment.
Following Open Enrollment
The effective date for your Open Enrollment elections is June 27, 2022. Changes to your paycheck deductions will begin with the July 1, 2022, paycheck.
NOTE: If you change your medical or dental plan(s), it’s very important that you verify coverage before seeking services. It normally takes the plan providers about 3–4 weeks to send out an official enrollment packet and new membership ID card(s). Some providers, such as Delta Dental and VSP, do not send ID cards, but you can log in to their website to obtain information regarding your enrollment.
Finally, we encourage you to take note of when changes to your benefits are allowed during the year. Refer to the online 2022–2023 Employee Benefits Guide to see your special enrollment rights and other required Plan Notices. You can also contact your Department Employee Service Center to request a copy of the required Plan Notices.
