It's not all clouds and keystrokes. We're hands-on tech: maintaining equipment is an important part of the support we provide to our fellow County employees.
Sure, we take care of daily operational needs like repairing equipment, facilitating video conferencing, web site management and ensuring cybersecurity. But we also develop and implement sophisticated projects that support healthcare, public safety, voting, bill paying, facilities and fleet systems, historical record digitization, recruiting and hiring processes and every facet of government operations.
To be successful, we consider creativity and collaboration essential functions. We don’t just say creativity is important either. Our commitment to innovation lets us put our ideas and the ideas of our colleagues throughout the County to the test.
What types of projects do we work on? What types of projects can you work on for the County of Santa Clara? Here are some recent TSS accomplishments that further the County’s ability to provide world-class services to our employees and community:
Speech Therapy Portal System
The Speech Therapy Portal System allows physicians and speech-language pathologists to examine a variety of vocal parameters as well as, view abnormal motion and other vocal fold problems. Additionally, the system can assist physicians in accurately diagnosing vocal disease, such as tumors or lesions.
Jail Inmate Services Platform (JISP) Inmate Tablet – Phone
The County deployed over 2,800 tablet computers to inmates that provide free and paid content and services, access to jail information, notices and grievance forms, and educational and self-help resources. Inmates can also use the tablets to make phone calls at a lower per-minute charge than if they used wall phones.
Enterprise Cloud Solutions
Implementation of all three major Cloud platforms, which increases a department's capacity to deliver service offerings more efficiently and flexibly, and improves data security and mobility all while lowering costs.
TSS's innovation commitment encourages employees to develop new ways to use technology to advance a digital-first government working to provide seamless access for all members of the community.
